About me: #
Welcome to my personal website, I am Tom Bachard, doctor in signal processing. I conducted my PhD under the supervision of Thomas Maugey in the COMPACT team, former SIROCCO team, at INRIA Bretagne, France. In my work, I investigate new methods of compression (AI-based, semantics-based, DNA-based) at extremely low bitrate.
In 2025, I was invited for three months at Ochanomizu University to study the semantic of molecular swarms. This work was conducted under the supervision of Nathanaël Aubert-Kato.
I am currently looking for post doctoral opportunities in image processing and artificial intelligence.

On a personal note, I play and teach competitive bridge, I run (a bit) on my free time and I have been learning Japanese on my own for a few years (but I’m still bad at it). I gathered some resources on this website that, I hope, can be as useful to you as they have been to me.
